Beyond the Surface: Understanding Modern Skin

If you've just finished watching, I hope something in it felt familiar.

Not because the ideas were things you already knew. Because the moments were ones you've already lived. The client whose skin isn't responding the way it should. The consultation that drifts towards stress, or sleep, or hormones, and the quiet uncertainty about where to take it.

That instinct you have, that there's more going on than the surface is showing you, has been right all along. What's been missing isn't ability. It's somewhere to put what you're noticing.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

Over the next few days I'll send you a short series of emails picking up where the lesson leaves off. How the layers connect. What this looks like inside a real consultation. And where your role begins and ends, because staying inside your scope matters as much as seeing the whole picture.

If this way of thinking resonates, I'd love to take you further inside The Modern Skin Practitioner, my six-month live programme for experienced Skin Therapists. The first cohort begins in September, and because of how the live practice sessions work, there are limited spots available.

- YOUR TEACHER

Hey, I'm Chloe.

I'm a Registered Nutritional Therapist, and for the last eight years skin has been my whole focus. Acne, rosacea and perioral dermatitis.

I didn't come to this work from a textbook. I came to it from my own skin. Acne through my teens and twenties. Perioral dermatitis after my daughter was born, along with the tell-tale signs of rosacea. I've sat in dermatology offices being told there was nothing left to try but medication I didn't want to take, and that nobody could tell me why any of it was happening.

I did eventually find a Skin Therapist who told me my diet wasn't helping. But she couldn't explain why, or what to do instead. Just a list of foods to remove, which I found impossible to stick to and left me feeling more lost than before but with a deeper level of shame for not managing to follow to what she’d told me.

So I went and found out for myself. And when I started working with skin, I realised the clients in front of me had been on exactly the same loop I had. And the brilliant, skilled therapists they'd been seeing had never been given this education either.

That's why I built The Modern Skin Practitioner. It's the education I wish someone had handed me, and handed the therapists who were trying so hard to help me.

Being a new course I don't have testimonials for MSP yet — but here's what students have said about studying with me:
